South of the Border, Under the Sun

Life in Los Barriles, Baja California Sur, Mexico, runs at an easy, relaxing pace. The town seems quiet, people are friendly and all around you are accompanied by a wide range of colors provided by nature, the ocean, homes and by local artesanos showcasing their work on the streets. We enjoy taking short trips to the East Cape, and especially to Los Barriles. Below are some photos which we took at the photoshooting for a magazine ESCAPES... You will see why it's so easy to fall in love with this place.

My Night is Your Day or Ya es mediodia en China

Today I encountered an amazing artwork of Johannes Wohnseifer that I’d love to have in my living room or working room. With it I’d be able to follow up on my friends’ days and nights all over the world.

On the large wall map of the world at Karriere Bar, the earth is defined by vertical light tubes which, by getting brighter as the sun’s position changes relative to the earth, track its diurnal rotation. This means that in the early hours you will be able to see dawn approaching and on afternoons when time seems to stand still, you will see that it is indeed progressing. The play of lights in this artwork is amazing. Or as our local TV host would say “Ya es mediodia en China”, don’t know where they’ve got the title, but it always makes me smile.

Sensual curves, perfect proportions, sexy lace, fantasies beyond imagination. We all dream about that, don’t we?

Maid Chair from Slovenian designer Nika Zupanc is today no longer a news, but I think it is still newsworthy. In fact, I believe it will be newsworthy in 20+ years too. So imaginative and stylish at the same time. It arouses imagination, doesn't it? Made from polycarbonate, available in three colors, hopefully this chair will be produced soon, so we can all use it as a precious piece of inspiration and imagination.

Nobody could describe it better than the author herself: "This chair is not about parts and materials. It is about flesh and desires. Its shapes are following sensual curves of ideal feminine body; its proportions are pushing fantasies to the surface. Maid is someone that brings joy in every day’s routine, order in chaos, a bit of fun in business. It is emotion squeezing device that conquers public and private place with the same unbreakable charm. It is pleasure altar in a bedroom. It is everybody’s darling in lounge bar. It is primadonna in house of high culture. It is "must see" in shopping avenues. Put it in the street, it will function as an HALT sign."
